Capacitor Commutation Method for MVDC Hybrid Circuit Breakers

چکیده

The medium voltage DC (MVDC) type system can connect multiple terminals to a common MVDC bus, so it is possible several renewable power sources the but circuit breaker needed isolate short accidents that may occur in bus. For this purpose, concept of hybrid takes advantage low conduction loss contact switch and an arcless-breaking semiconductor has been proposed. During break switch, dedicated current commutation device required temporarily bypass load flowing through main into branch. Existing methods include proactive method reverse injection by LC (Inductor-capacitor) resonant circuit. This paper proposes new using withstanding capacitor branch for sequence controller according it, verifies its operation experiment.
